Royal baby countdown

It should now a be a question of days before William and Kate get to meet their little bundle of joy. The world media and royal fans have been camping outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s hospital in Paddington, waiting with bated breath as each hour passes. Lindo WingThere are still so many questions on everyone’s lips…when is the actual due date, when will Kate give birth and will it be to a baby Prince or Princess, what will the royal baby be called, how many middle names will he or she have? What is certain is that Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, regardless of their royal titles, will be, just like any other mums- and dads-to-be, going through a rollercoaster of emotions. Isn’t first time parenthood difficult enough without having the world watching your every move? Let’s hope the nation celebrates with glee but gives them enough space to catch their breath and start planning their new life and some kind of routine for their newborn baby. Royal newlyweds, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, take an surprise drive in Prince Charles's vintage Aston Martin, from Buckingham Palace to Clarence House in LondonEven if they should be getting plenty of help with the running of their everyday lives, we all expect Kate and William to be very hands on parents – after all the Prince drove himself and his new bride around London following the Royal Wedding. There will have many people around them, sometimes maybe too many, as you’d expect thousands of visitors from their extended families and royal connections. I just hope they learn to put the needs of the baby and their own first, so they get plenty of time to bond and to set feeding and bedtime routines that are essential for the baby but also for the parents to get some rest. Picture1It’s really easy at first to want to cram in all the house chores or other duties during the baby nap- and bedtime but the parents should also look to get rest at that time so they have enough energy to cope with the baby’s many demands once he or she wakes up. On that point, I predict the baby will be a little girl and if that’s the case I hope that they choose Diana as one of her middle names. Shouldn’t be long now until we get answers to all the questions bouncing around for the last nine months. I should be able to get in touch soon to confirm whether my prediction was right or not. The countdown starts now….City_Banner_02
